This policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal data when you use SwiftDuka and swiftduka.com, including our integration with Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform.
1. Information we collect
- Business information: business name, registration details, address, business email, phone number, WhatsApp Business Account ID.
- Order data processed on behalf of merchants: customer name, phone number, delivery address, order items, payment reference, delivery status.
- Website data: IP address, browser type, pages visited via cookies and analytics.
- Communication data: messages sent to our email or contact form.
2. How we use information
- To provide SwiftDuka services: catalog sync, order automation, payment confirmation with mobile money, delivery tracking.
- To create and manage WhatsApp Business Platform integrations via Meta's official API.
- To verify business identity for Meta Business Verification and WhatsApp compliance.
- To send service notifications and support messages on WhatsApp with consent.
- To comply with applicable law and Meta Platform Terms.
3. WhatsApp data
SwiftDuka uses Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform API. We do not store message content beyond what is needed to process orders and provide proof of delivery. Templates are approved by Meta. We do not sell WhatsApp data. Customers opt in per WhatsApp Business Policy.
4. Legal basis
Contract performance, legitimate interest, consent and legal compliance under Tanzania data protection laws.
5. Data sharing
- Meta Platforms Inc for WhatsApp Business Platform.
- Payment providers for mobile money confirmation only.
- Delivery partners, limited to address and phone number.
- We do not sell personal data.
6. Retention
Business data retained while account active. Order data retained for 3 years for accounting, then anonymized. Logs retained 12 months.
7. Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion or export of your data by emailing emmanuel@swiftduka.com.
8. Security
We use HTTPS, encryption at rest, role based access and two factor authentication for admins.
9. Cookies
Essential cookies for site function and analytics cookies to improve service. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.
